Creating art begins in the mind and eye. The real work is one of noticing and appreciating,seeing things clearly and differently,and sharing that vision with others. I have developed my vision and my craft in order to bring the nature of man to a fresh way that can inspire and nourish peoples thoughts. Art has a unique capacity to convey insights,intuitively and emotionally, about subject matter. it is through art I try to exploit the powers of art to relate secrets of mans nature.A key element in my work is of mans History and his Legends.The imagesI produce always relate to mans history .Since the begining of time man has been seeking answers to the many reasons why we are here.Religion,Power and Greed all have shaped our present place in the history of the world.
Religion without creed,and mystical beings provide shadowy figures for an extension of the imagination.My sculptures create images from the past.The medieval period providing me with an unending source of inspiration.Each figure is hand crafted by myself and is an individual.I use the"Applied Metal" technique,whereby layers of metal(Aluminium-Copper-Brass) are built up on the external surface of the sculpture former.
A number of my figures have originated from ideas suggested by inquires such as (can I make)(or is it possible to make) a specific figure .Good ideas have been responsible for some of my figures
